We commissioned James Hayes, who designed previous series’ for us, including the award-winning design for Demi-Peche. At its heart, the visual language for our beer labels at Wild Card is inspired by the mystical, occult imagery and bright simple colours of traditional Tarot cards. James Hayes’ third instalment for Wild Card has been carved from the Suit of Wands, a series of cards which rules creativity, experimentation, progress and discovery, qualities which inform every step of our brewing process. Each design features a central motif associated with legendary romance, blended with archetypal Walthamstow imagery and framed by the mysterious Rider-Waite Tarot.
With this theme in mind, our latest collection is both faithful and experimental, comprising a decadently flavoured Coffee Oat Milk Stout, an IPA, a Pale Ale, and for the first time in Wild Card history, a TIPA! We brewed a recipe which is luxuriously thick and hazy, with bold tropical flavours.
